Apple has reportedly completed its acquisition of Israel-based chip firm Anobit, a maker of flash storage technology.
Hebrew newspaper Calcalist reports that Anobit’s flash memory chip uses a unique technology for signal processing.
Final negotiations are understood to be concluded and the final price tag was between US$400m and US$500m.
Its technology is already embedded in the iPhone, the iPad and the MacBook Air.
Anobit’s technology increases the amount of memory in a device.
The company has raised US$76m in the last four years from Micron, Intel Capital and Pitango Venture Capital.
