Internet giant Yahoo! will be unveiling a new logo on 4 September after showing off redesigned logos for the next month, as part of a move to reflect what it says is the renewed sense of purpose and progress at the company.
“While the company is rapidly evolving, our logo — the essence of our brand — should too,” Kathy Savitt, chief marketing officer, wrote on Yahoo!’s blog.
“The new logo will be a modern redesign that’s more reflective of our re-imagined design and new experiences.”
Savitt added that with the new logo, Yahoo! wants to preserve the company’s fun, vibrant and welcoming character, so it will hang onto the colour purple and the exclamation point.
Beginning yesterday and for the next 30 days, Yahoo! will roll out a variation of its logo on its homepage and across its US network before unveiling the new logo on 4 September.
Yahoo! will also post each day’s redesigned logo on its blog, @Yahoo (#dailylogo) and on its Facebook page.
