Enterprise Ireland's designate CEO Julie Sinnamon
Julie Sinnamon has been appointed CEO designate of Enterprise Ireland following a rigorous recruitment process. She replaces outgoing CEO Frank Ryan.
Sinnamon’s career spans lengthy stints at both IDA Ireland and Enterprise Ireland, where she gained considerable experience in a variety of industry sectors and international markets.
Most recently, she was executive director for Global Business Development in Enterprise Ireland.
Sinnamon has a master’s degree in international business (Fordham & IMI) and is a graduate of the Stanford Executive Programme.
Announcing the appointment, the chairman of the board of Enterprise Ireland Terence O’Rourke said, “I would like to congratulate Julie on her appointment which takes effect on 3 November 2013.
“The board was very impressed with Julie’s knowledge of, and background in, enterprise development, her understanding of the challenges facing Irish enterprise and her vision for its further development.
“Julie will now develop and build on the considerable strengths of the organisation built up by the great work of Frank Ryan over the past 10 years,” O’Rourke said.
Earlier this month, Enterprise Ireland revealed plans to recruit 20 new people in key markets such as BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) countries as part of a strategy to increase exports by Irish companies by €250m, resulting in 1,200 additional jobs in Ireland.
The plan represents a 14pc increase in the number of Enterprise Ireland staff in overseas offices.
