Big data meets online ads as Quantcast creates 100 new jobs in Dublin

21 Feb 2013

Digital advertising player Quantcast is to create 100 new jobs in Dublin. The company specialises in digital advertising and is a pioneer of real-time audience measurement.

The new operation intends to make big data the lynchpin of its future strategy. The company claims to have the most in-depth understanding of digital audiences across the web and aims to provide marketers and publishers with the tools to make smart choices around targeted advertising.

The new roles will include account management, product operations, marketing and finance.

“This centre creates a base for satisfying our clients’ desire to expand their use of our real-time advertising in Europe and beyond,” said Quantcast CEO Konrad Feldman.

“Dublin offers the rare mix of a vibrant local technology business scene, an exceptional talent pool and easy accessibility to Europe’s major markets, all instrumental in our decision to locate here,” Feldman said.

Dublin: Internet Capital of Europe

Ireland’s Jobs Minister Richard Bruton, TD, said big data is a sector that will deliver considerable growth opportunities and Ireland is uniquely positioned to take advantage due to the base of companies located in the country, the local skilled workforce and publically funded research in the area.

“Today’s very welcome announcement that Quantcast, a world-leading company in this sector, is establishing its EMEA headquarters in Ireland with the creation of 100 new jobs demonstrates the potential that exists for Ireland in this sector,” Bruton said.

IDA Ireland CEO Barry O’Leary said the arrival of Quantcast will bolster Ireland’s reputation as the ‘Internet Capital of Europe’.

“This company is one of the top 5 big data-processing organisations in the world, offering customers a pioneering, targeted audience advertising solution. I would like to offer the ongoing support of IDA Ireland to Quantcast; a most welcome addition to Dublin’s cluster of digital media companies,” O’Leary said.
