62 new jobs for Limerick as Worldwide TechServices rolls into town

1 Mar 2013

IT solutions company Worldwide TechService (WWTS) is to create 62 new jobs in Limerick as part of an IDA-supported investment. The new Planned Solution Centre will support operations and sales activities across EMEA.

WWTS provides custom infrastructure and managed service solutions for a variety of technologies and customers in the IT market across 82 countries.

“Limerick was chosen for this operation due to its excellent skills base, established technology cluster and connectivity to the Boston area and excellent reach capacity into mainland Europe,” the company’s chief operations officer Donna Martin explained. “I look forward to the growth of WWTS in Ireland.”

Ireland Jobs and Enterprise Minister Richard Bruton, TD, said ICT is a key sector targeted by the Government and more than 5,000 additional jobs have been created since the current Government came to office last year.

“This is great news for Limerick and the mid-west, and I am determined to build on this to attract more investments to Ireland and create the jobs we need,” Bruton said.

IDA Ireland chief executive Barry O’Leary said WWTS counts Apple, Dell, HP, Sony and Canon amongst its key customers.

The company’s worldwide team of more than 3,000 technicians service more than 3m desktops, laptops, printers, servers, networks, satellites and LCDs each year in more than 50 countries. That’s more than 9,000 service calls per day.

“This is an excellent win for Limerick and the mid-west region and I would like to offer the ongoing support of IDA Ireland as WWTS develops its Irish operation,” O’Leary said.
