Some of the fastest-growing companies on the leading edge of advances in IT, cybersecurity, life sciences and financial services are to create 132 jobs in Dublin and Galway, it emerged this morning.
The five companies creating the jobs are New Relic, SEKO MedTec Solutions, NeoMed, Inc, capSpire and Starting Dot.
New Relic, the San Francisco, California-headquartered software analytics company, is establishing its EMEA HQ in Dublin, with the creation of 50 new jobs.
SEKO MedTec Solutions, an operating company of Sutherland Global Logistics (SGL), a global logistics industry leader, today announced plans to establish a European Control Centre in Galway, with the creation of 30 jobs.
NeoMed, Inc, a manufacturer of enteral nutrition delivery devices, today announced plans to establish an EMEA headquarters in Dublin, with the creation of 22 jobs. The company’s new EMEA HQ will be responsible for all sales outside of the US.
capSpire, a global consulting and solutions company serving the energy industry, is opening its first international office which will allow the firm to better serve its existing European clients. The company will create 20 new jobs in business consultancy and software development.
StartingDot, the Paris-based internet domain name registry business, today announced the establishment of a Finance and Operations Centre in Dublin, creating 10 jobs across a range of activities including sales, finance, IT and customer support.
They might be giants
In recent years, IDA Ireland has broadened and deepened its approach to look towards embracing not just large multinational corporations (MNCs), but also working with high-growth companies that aspire to be the MNCs of the future.
“Targeting high-growth emerging companies is a key part of the Government’s Action Plan for Jobs,” said Richard Bruton, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation.
“The thinking behind this drive is that these companies will establish deep roots here from early in their growth and make a substantial impact on our economy. There is also, of course, the possibility that one of these companies will turn into a world-leading company of the future.
“Today’s announcement that five fast-growing young companies, across a range of fast-growing sectors, are locating operations in Dublin and Galway with the creation of 132 jobs, is great news for Ireland. We in Government are determined to build on this to ensure that we can continue to see the flow of multinational investment to Ireland and help create the growth and jobs we need.”
Barry O’Leary, CEO, IDA Ireland, said IDA Ireland has set up a specific division to focus on attracting these high-potential, high-growth companies to Ireland at an early stage of their development.
“Ireland’s reputation as a location for fast-growing businesses to expand into international markets continues to grow. We hope to have the next Amazon, Google and Oracle in this group of companies.”
