iTagged, the Dublin-based app creator behind the augmented reality app that allows users to geo-tag and share the world around them, is to create 20 new jobs.
The company is looking to hire 20 people in software development, R&D and marketing over the next 12 months at its Dublin office.
Recruitment is also under way for the company’s US office.
The iTagged app is the brainchild of company founder and CEO Keith Jordan. Taking his inspiration from a live rugby match he attended in 2012 in the RDS in Dublin, Leinster vs Ulster, Jordan’s desire was to not only capture the electric experience in the stadium, but be able to share it with others while viewing their own unique photo and video content.
Jordan has 20 years of experience in digital marketing, strategic management and technology futurology. He has worked with major brands such as Sony, Apple and Microsoft.
Tag the world around you
Available exclusively via the Apple App Store and free to download, the iTagged app works by combining augmented reality with location-based services, image capturing and social sharing. Users can tag and share photos, video and information about their favourite locations, message their contacts, follow breaking news stories on the ground, and share their tags across Facebook, Twitter and the web.
“With iTagged, there are a million possibilities,” Jordan said.
“People can share video with family on the other side of the world, leave a restaurant review tagged at the restaurant’s location, or even view interior shots of a property for sale as they walk past it on the street.”
