Tech Jobs 2014 – Top 50 jobs announcements of 2014: Nos 10-6

Today we continue our countdown of Ireland’s top tech jobs announcement stories of 2014, from start-ups to multinational companies.

It has been a year that has reflected expansions, investments and sectors that are thriving in Ireland, such as online and pharmaceuticals.

Community-driven hospitality e-commerce site Airbnb, for example, announced 100 news jobs in Dublin, and pharmaceutical firm Eli Lilly, which has four Irish operations, in Dublin, Cork, Sligo and Kinsale, Co Cork, revealed it was to also create 100 jobs in Ireland.

	10 – 200 new jobs as medical-device player Nypro locates in Waterford Waterford is to benefit from 200 new jobs, as medical-device player Nypro Healthcare revealed plans to establish a state-of-the-art facility in the south-east of Ireland.
	9 – Version 1 to create 100 jobs, gains investment from €75m fund IT services company Version 1 is to create 100 new jobs in Dublin after becoming the first company to receive funding from the €75m BDO Development Capital Fund.
	8 – Ryanair to create 50 new IT and digital jobs Pan-European airline Ryanair has announced 50 new IT and digital jobs in Dublin, the company revealed.
	7 – €20m boost and 40 jobs for Athlone as two biotech players develop ex-Elan facilities Former Elan buildings in Athlone, Co Roscommon, which stood unused in recent years are to get a welcome boost – 40 new jobs are to be created by Alexion after it agreed to purchase the buildings from Alkermes.
	6 – Ryanair to create 200 new digital jobs at Dublin office campus Airline Ryanair has revealed plans to create 200 new jobs in Dublin for technology, software development and digital marketing specialists at its new 100,000 sq-foot office campus near Dublin Airport.
