First registered electric car arrives in Dublin

Following ESB's on-street charging points going live on 26 March, the first electric car from a mainstream manufacturer to be registered in Ireland arrived at Dublin Port this week.
The i-MiEV electric vehicle (EV) from Mitsubishi came fresh off the ferry from Luxembourg, with a further 14 more to arrive in Ireland by June 2010.
The Mitsubishi i-MiEV has a top speed of 130k/ph, a range of 160km and can be charged from flat to full in six hours at any standard three-pin socket with a cost of €2 per charge.
The i-MiEV is already an award-winning electric car and 1,400 units built in 2009 were sold out upon release in Japan in July of last year.
Mitsubishi says the i-MiEV model pictured will be used for the analysis of driving and charging behaviour in advance of the full rollout of charging points nationwide.
