Microsoft donates €1.2m of cloud software to non-profits

Microsoft has donated €1.2m worth of cloud software to non-profit organisations in Ireland, the company said today.

The chief beneficiary was Enable Ireland, a provider of services to children and adults with disabilities, which received €1m worth of software to support its transition to the cloud.

The other non-profits to benefit were Junior Achievement, which received €118,000 worth of software, and the remaining €88,000 worth of software was donated to St Vincent de Paul.

Microsoft, which is in the midst of celebrating Cloud Week, also announced details of a conference focused on the potential of cloud computing for non-profit sector entitled 'Partnering for Success'.

The conference will take place in The Morrison Hotel, Dublin, on 15 May from 9am to 2pm.
