Wi-Fi provider Bitbuzz has expanded its complementary Wi-Fi service Bitbuzz Freedom in Dublin, beyond Grafton Street to include parts of Henry Street, Temple Bar and the Hibernian Way to coincide with the Christmas shopping frenzy.
The service allows smartphone users in these areas to use practical shopping apps and social networking sites to compare prices and keep in touch with friends and family.
The Bitbuzz Freedom service was launched in June.
The company uses multi-band wireless point-to-point backhaul technology to provide a more stable wireless broadband experience than mesh solutions.

This allows users to move around and continue surfing the internet.
Bitbuzz recently reached the 1m registered user milestone.
“We believe that complimentary Wi-Fi is especially important for international tourists visiting the city,” Bitbuzz CEO Shane Deasy said.
“In this respect, Henry Street, Temple Bar and the Royal Hibernian Way are ideal locations for expansion of the service and we would like to thank the business owners in these locations and on Grafton Street for their continued support,” Deasy said.
“We anticipate further pick-up of this new service in the run-up to Christmas and look forward to expanding Bitbuzz Freedom to other locations throughout the country over the coming months,” Deasy added.
