Google chairman Eric Schmidt sees a future immersed in technology, with internet, as we know it, dead.
The tech supremo says the internet will soon disappear, as we absorb technology in all facets of life.
Speaking at the end of the Davos World Forum, Schmidt claimed that our current idea of internet will soon disappear, replaced by an ever-present interaction with the mobile world.
“There will be so many IP addresses…so many devices, sensors, things that you are wearing, things that you are interacting with that you won’t even sense it,” he said, as seen in Hollywood Reporter.
Indeed it’s not such an outlandish statement considering Windows’ latest, stunning creation, the HoloLens – a holographic headset that is in effect the world’s first holographic computing platform.
Wearing the headset enables all Windows universal apps to work as holograms that appear before you in the real world and allows you to interact with data in a way not possible before.
“It will be part of your presence all the time,” explained Schmidt of the future of online.
“Imagine you walk into a room, and the room is dynamic. And with your permission and all of that, you are interacting with the things going on in the room.”
“A highly personalised, highly interactive and very, very interesting world emerges.”
