Julian Assange, the founder of whistle-blowing website WikiLeaks, is free on bail after a hearing at the High Court in London. He is wanted in Sweden for questioning over rape allegations.
Justice Duncan Ouseley agreed with a decision by the City of Westminister earlier in this week to release Assange with conditions: a stg£200,000 cash deposit, with an additional stg£40,000 guaranteed in two sureties of stg£20,000 and strict conditions on his movement.
Ouseley also ruled that Assange supporters and journalists could not use the microblogging site Twitter to give a blow-by-blow account of the proceedings.
Assange (39) has denied the allegations made against him.
