Penthouse has confirmed it is preparing a new 3D TV channel called Penthouse 3D to distribute its adult-oriented programming shot in 3D and high definition.
“We started shooting in 3D this past summer, and have significantly invested to perfect 3D production quality,” said Marc Bell, CEO of FriendFinder Networks, the internet-based social networking company that owns Penthouse.
“Consumer excitement for 3D content is high, and Penthouse is the one studio that can rely on its broad expertise to deliver 3D in a manner unmatched by any other branded entertainment company.”
In the ‘entertainment’ business since 1965 when the magazine was founded in the UK, Penthouse already has a Penthouse HD channel to complement its existing portfolio.
The Penthouse 3D channel is expected to be available to system operators for broadcast to the general public in the second quarter of 2011.
