Apple television expected to hit the market in Q4
The latest rumours from Asia suggest Apple has hurried up the supply LCD display panels from Sharp being shipped to Foxconn in order to have its new product in the market in time for the busy holiday season.
Chinese news site 21cbh.com is understood to have spoken with Sharp executives about the schedule being moved up.
According to AppleInsider, an analyst called Brian White of Topeka Capital Markets believes the pieces are in place for Apple to launch a fully-fledged HDTV.
White projects that if Apple captures just 2pc of the LCD TV market it could generate additional sales of US$10bn per year.
According to the report, Apple's forthcoming television will use a special type of motion-detection technology that will be the primary method of controlling the TV.
The device is also expected to have a unique plastic-backed remote control touch panel resembling an iPad.
