HP Pavilion TouchSmart Sleekbook
HP has announced a slew of new products at International CES, including the world’s first Beats Audio-integrated display, a storage device for wireless content streaming that can fit in your pocket, and its most affordable touch notebook to date.
HP Pavilion TouchSmart Sleekbook
Joining the 14-inch and 15.6-inch HP Sleekbooks announced in September, the new TouchSmart Sleekbook is thin and light with a 15.6-inch HD display. Inside is an AMD A-series APU and there’s an option to include AMD Radeon discrete graphics on select models.
Hitting the US in February, the TouchSmart Sleekbook starts at US$649.99, featuring up to 1TB of storage, a full array of ports, a HP TrueVision HD Webcam, Dolby Advanced Audio and a numeric keypad.
Accompanying this is the launch of a new 15.6-inch HP Pavilion Sleekbook with all the same features of the TouchSmart minus the touchscreen. This notebook will be available in the US next week at a starting price of US$479.99.
HP Pocket Playlist
HP has also introduced a pocket-sized media storage device that doesn’t need an internet connection or data plan when streaming. The HP Pocket Playlist acts like a home DVR and can stream unencrypted content to up to five mobile devices at the same time using a direct Wi-Fi connection.
Smaller and lighter than the average smartphone, the 32GB device can store up to 16 full-length movies (or 7,600 songs, or 10,000 photos) and streams to most Wi-Fi enabled Android, Windows and iOS mobile devices.
This device will be available 15 February (regions not yet confirmed) for US$129.
HP Envy 27-inch IPS Monitor
The first stand-alone monitor in the world to integrate Beats Audio, the HP Envy 27-inch IP Monitor, was developed in collaboration with Beats by Dr. Dre and provides an immersive audio-visual experience as a result.
Its built-in speakers are angled upward to deliver great mid-range and high frequencies with equally strong bass, promising the studio-quality sound Beats has built its brand on.
The monitor’s in-plane switching (IPS) panel provides a viewing angle of 178 degrees horizontally and vertically, while edge-to-edge glass, slim design and a narrow aluminium base ensure it looks as good as it sounds.
The HP Envy 27-inch IPS Monitor will be available worldwide on 3 February for US$499.
