Now that the first Glass ‘explorers’ are starting to receive their smart glasses from Google, we can see what comes in the box for US$1,500.
When Project Glass was unveiled at last year’s I/O developer conference, Google gave those present the opportunity to sign up to get their hands on the first pairs of Glass Explorer Edition glasses, and they started shipping this week.
Brandon Allgood is one of the 2,000 first Glass owners (outside of those working on the product, of course) and has posted pictures of the spectacles’ unboxing on his Google+ profile.
Inside the minimalist packaging, as well as Glass itself, is a carrier pouch, power cord, micro-USB cable and attachable clear visor or shades for using Glass on sunny days (or at night, if you’re that way inclined).
Allgood has now changed his profile picture to a shot of himself in the high-tech specs, and continues to document his experience with the wearable tech for his Google+ followers.
Earlier this week, the specifications for Glass Explorer Edition were revealed, and a consumer version of the product is expected to be made available later this year.
