iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c to arrive in Ireland and 27 other countries on 25 October

Apple’s newest smartphones, the colourful iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s which comes with fingerprint recognition, will launch in Ireland, Italy, Russia and 25 additional countries on Friday, 25 October.

The devices will also launch in a further 12 countries, including India and Mexico, the following week, on Friday, 1 November.

The iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c devices went on sale on Friday (20 September) in the US, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the UK.

The iPhone 5c will come with the same A6 processor that’s in the iPhone 5, however it will have a larger battery capacity. It also comes with the same 8-megapixel rear camera that will have a five-element lens and a hybrid IR filter.

Inside the device is reinforced steel and the outside comes in various colours – green, yellow, blue, white and pink/red. Apple will also be selling custom cases made of soft silicon rubber with circular cut-out patterns for US$29 a piece.

The iPhone 5s is the first smartphone in the world to come with 64-bit computing through the A7 processor. The device will come in a new gold colour, as well as silver or what Apple calls “space gray.”

Every iPhone 5s includes the new M7 motion coprocessor that gathers data from the accelerometer, gyroscope and compass to offload work from the A7 for improved power efficiency.

The iPhone 5s carries a suggested retail price of €699 (€568.29 ex VAT) for the 16GB model, €799 (€649.59 ex VAT) for the 32GB model and €899 (€730.89 ex VAT) for the 64GB model.

The iPhone 5c has a suggested retail price of €599 (€486.99 ex VAT) for the 16GB model and €699 (€568.29 ex VAT) for the 32GB model.
