The HTC One family is finally complete as HTC has unveiled the One Max, a phablet-sized version of its flagship smartphone.
Basically, the HTC One Max is a larger version of the HTC One – and a much larger version of the HTC One Mini.
Specifically, the Max smartphone has a 5.9-inch Super LCD 3 display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080. Inside, the processor is the same as the HTC One – a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 – as well as the same 2GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB storage options. It does have a boosted 3,300mAh battery to power all that extra screen real esate, though, plus there’s a HTC Power Flip Case that offers an additional 1,150mAh, plus added protection.
All the new features introduced with the HTC One are included – BlinkFeed, Zoe and BoomSound – and everything’s been optimised for the larger screen and slightly upgraded Sense 5.5 interface, based on Android 4.3.
For example, BlinkFeed on Sense 5.5 is more cusomisable, features content from more providers such as Instagram and Google+, and can download up to 120 articles for offline viewing.
As with the HTC One, you have an UltraPixel camera plus a 2.1MP front-facing camera, both of which are capable of shooting 1080p full-HD video. They can also shoot video and photos simultaneously in Dual Capture mode.
A unique feature on the HTC One Max is Fingerprint Scan. Located on the back of the device, this scanner can recognise three individual fingers and will unlock the screen and launch a selected app for each one.
The silver handset follows the same design language as HTC One and begins rolling out in Europe and Asia from this week, to reach the US around November.
