Vodafone brings sports TV packages to smartphones with Sky Sports

Mobile operator Vodafone has forged a new partnership with Sky Sports to roll out a choice of two Sky Sports mobile TV packages ahead of the Premier League season and the 2014 Ryder Cup.

The Sky Sports Mobile TV packages provide unlimited access to Sky Sports 1 and 2, and can be availed of as part of a RED Extra tariff, or as a monthly add-on to bill pay and pay as you go plans for €5.99 per month.

Customers can also subscribe to Sky Sports Mobile TV Pack 2, which carries additional channels (Sky Sports 1,2,3,4 F1 and Sky Sports News), for €8 extra per month on RED Extra tariff, or for €13.99 per month as stand-alone add-on for bill pay/pay as you go customers.

The packages will give mobile device owners access to live sports events that include UEFA Champions League football, European Rugby Champions Cup, Guinness PRO12 Rugby, the GAA Football and Hurling Championships, major Darts championships and Formula 1.

Pay as you go customers can opt in for either of the Sky Sports Mobile TV packages by texting “SKYSPORTS” to 50221.

A Vodafone bill pay customer will get Sky Sports Mobile TV pack 1 with extra data as part of their RED Extra package; while existing RED Extra customers can upgrade to pack 2 with a monthly add on for €8 per month
