Japanese companies are planning to install EV charging points beside vending machines across the country, AutomotiveWorld.com reveals.
The consortium of Japanese companies plan to establish an estimated 10,000 charging points in the first year of the project, either alongside new vending machines or at existing vending machine locations.
The project which will begin later this month is led by vending machine operator Forking Co and includes charging specialist Panasonic Electric Works and telecoms providers SoftBank Telecom and SoftBank Mobile, which will connect the charging systems.
