Apple may be launching its Mac App Store on 13 December, according to reports.
A source told Appletell that the company has asked developers to have their software prepared for a launch as early as 6 December, with the target for the opening set for the 13th.
It was also reported that Apple CEO Steve Jobs wants a launch before Christmas, to take advantage of the season.
The Mac App Store aims to bring app functionality to Apple’s range of computers, similar to that on its range of iPhone and iPad devices.
The store will offer one-click downloads of free and paid apps with automatic installation.
Developers have been sending apps for the store since November and with this rumoured push, they could be seeing their software available quite soon.
