Move over, iTunes, there may be a new kid in town in the form of Google Music. The internet search giant will reportedly link its music service to its upcoming Android ‘Honeycomb’ mobile operating system, said a report in The Guardian.
Motorola Mobility chief Sanjay Jha suggested the benefit of having Honeycomb power its upcoming Xoom tablet is the addition of video and music services, The Guardian reported.
“If you look at Google Mobile services (via Android) today, there’s a video service, there’s a music service – that is, there will be a music service,” Jha said, according to the report.
In September, Billboard reported a music service from Google could include a digital download service coupled with an online storage locker, so users could store songs locally or keep them all in the cloud. The locker aspect could require a subscription fee.
