For the fourth year running, Siliconrepublic.com has been awarded Best Technology Website at the Realex Irish Web Awards 2011.
The awards are now in their fourth year running and the event, which was held at Dublin’s Mansion House, was the 11th event run together by blogger Damien Mulley and by 2FM DJ Rick O’Shea, who served as master of ceremonies at the event.
Mulley and O’Shea’s event partnership began six years ago with the Irish Blog Awards. The Irish Web Awards were spawned four years ago and earlier this year Mulley announced he was stepping aside from the Blog Awards and planned to concentrate on a new project: the Irish Social Media Awards.
The Grand Prix at the Realex Irish Web Awards 2011 last night was won by new online news site The Journal.ie, which is less than a year old, and which also scooped the Best Web Only Publication last night.
