10 Jan 2012

Tipperary firm Grey Horse Apps has been shortlisted in the “Best Doing Good” category for the 2011 Best App Ever awards in San Francisco for its “Save A Horse” app for the Irish Horse Welfare Trust.

It was shortlisted from more than 7,240 app nominations. It’s facing up against nine other apps in the Android section of this category. Winners will be announced at the Macworld/iWorld Expo 2012 in San Francisco, set to take place at the end of the month.

The app offers 17 topics of information on the Irish horse charity, which include videos, volunteering opportunities and fundraising.

It also contains details for horse owners, such as nutrition tips and dental care, and lets users donate directly to the charity through this app.

The Save A Horse app is available for iOS and Android devices costing €3.99.
