One of Europe’s youngest iOS app developers has spotted a gap in the market and is attempting the launch of the Irish Kid Tech Awards 2012.
The brainchild of Jordan Casey author of iOS game Alien Ball Vs Humans, the awards are at a planning stage with sponsors or supporters yet to come on board.
The aim is to showcase Irish techie kids for their talents and before any sponsors come on board Casey is keen to get kids submitting their projects.
The categories are as follows: best blog, best website, best design, best programme, best invention, best short film, best YouTube channel, best game, best app and best music.
Casey’s first game went on sale on the Apple App Store in February for the iPad and the iPhone and last week he announced a sequel.
He donates 10pc of revenues from the game to a local cancer respite centre in Waterford, Solas Centre.
He plans to bring the game to Android and make it into a series of platform and puzzle games.
Jordan’s ambition is to build up his own company, Casey Games, to create games for platforms like the Xbox 360 and the new PlayStation Vita.
