A new first-person shooter called Defiance will be powered by Physics and Animation technology licensed to publisher Trion Worlds by Irish technology company Havok.
The Physics and Animation technology developed by Havok allowed Trion to bring a new level of interactive game play to the game.
Set in the near future, Defiance tells the story of a group of survivors from a universal war who are trying to build a new society.
The game combines the story quality and intense action of top-selling console shooters with the scale and customisation of an MMO.
“Defiance is an amazing title for 2013 and we are excited to be a part of it,” Havok CEO David Coghlin said.
“The Trion team really brought their vision to life and we were happy that they could leverage Havok’s optimised physics and animation technologies to enhance creativity behind such a technically challenging, but highly anticipated game,” he added.
