John Lennon’s letters to get new lease on life as an iOS app

9 Nov 2012

An iOS exclusive app containing the private letters of Beatles star John Lennon is to be released later this month, it has emerged.

The app will draw its material from Hunter Davies’ The John Lennon Letters, which contains 300 letters and postcards by Lennon.

The app will include 88 letters and postcards from the book.

A foreword by Yoko Ono will also be included in the app, as well as audio transcriptions from actor Christopher Eccleston.

The app will be out just in time to mark the 32nd anniversary of the musician’s murder on 8 December 1980 at just 40 years of age.

Born in Liverpool in 1940, Lennon was the founding member of The Beatles, one of the most critically acclaimed pop music bands of all time.
