Ryanair’s digital roll out continues as the Pan-European airline launches an app for customers to browse, book and check-in to flights.
The new Ryanair app is available on iOS and Android as a free download from the App Store, Google Play or directly from Ryanair.com.
Ryanair app users will be able to search 1,600 routes, book flights and manage their booking by selecting seats or adding baggage for their flight. Users will also be able to avail of additional services, such as hotel reservations, car hire and travel insurance.
Some 84m people are expected to fly with Ryanair this year and, with the app, these customers can keep track of live flight information and wave goodbye to printed boarding passes as their smartphone can now be used as a mobile boarding pass.
Users will also have the option to create a Ryanair profile and log in to the app.
The app is available in English, Italian and Spanish, with further language versions to follow.
“We’ve worked hard to develop a product which we’re proud of and which will make travelling with Ryanair even better, and our customers can expect regular app updates that will make it an even more useful travel tool,” said Kenny Jacobs, Ryanair’s chief marketing officer.
The app is part of Ryanair’s new strategy to improve its services, in particular passengers’ in-flight experience and the brand’s digital capabilities. A technology campus has been built near Dublin Airport to house 200 staff dedicated to this endeavour.
