A touch of Air for the new MacBook Pro
For those who are not quite ready for the wireless, optical drive-free experience of the ultra-slim MacBook Air, Apple has introduced two new updated models of the MacBook and the MacBook Pro.
It may not have the cachet of the world's slimmest notebook computer but the new MacBook Pro will have the multi-touch trackpad.
The multi-touch trackpad introduces three new functions for MacBook Air users. The pinch or expand gesture, which allows for maximising and minimising pictures as well as enlarging text on a document or webpage.
The swipe gesture allows users to flick through the gallery-type display on the desktop, which was introduced with the latest Mac OSX operating system Leopard.
Finally, the twist gesture allows for rotation of pictures using two fingers in a clockwise or anti-clockwise movement over the trackpad.
The new MacBook, with its 13.3-inch widescreen, starts at €999, while the MacBook pro begins at €1,799.
