Young Irish mobile software company Accuris is to create 27 new jobs as part of an Enterprise Ireland-supported investment that will make it a software as a service (SaaS) leader.

Accuris develops software that allows mobile operators to provide value add services from Wi-Fi hotspot to GSM and CDMA international roaming, as well as single electronic numbering.

The company, which is based in Dublin’s city centre, currently employs 51 people.

The €1.5m investment will focus on expanding into new markets and R&D-led growth opportunities.

Accuris CEO Aidan Dillon explained: “Accuris Networks is investing in developing innovative solutions to maximise our growth in the new and emerging global economy.

“Our advantage is we have proven and flexible solutions that allow mobile operators to extend service to their customers across the variety of many different existing and new wireless communications technologies.

“With this new investment, we aim to build on the existing Accuris Networks strengths and be in position to be the market leader as communications providers converge these technologies,” Dillon said.

Making the jobs announcement on the same occasion as Enterprise Ireland has unveiled a new strategy for Ireland’s software industry ‘The New Software Economy’ that will see it expand indigenous software revenues to €2.5bn, Tanaiste and Enterprise Minister Mary Coughlan TD said that services-led revenue was the future of the sector.

“Accuris is a leading example of those Irish companies that are ready to capitalise on the New Software Economy. I congratulate Accuris on this R&D investment, which will drive its next phase of export-led growth and help strengthen Ireland’s reputation as a software centre of excellence,” Minister Coughlan said.
