With a new range of monthly subscriptions, VoIP firm Skype is rolling out cheaper rates in more than 170 countries worldwide, promising as much as 60pc savings to landline and mobile phones.
Alongside the Pay As You Go rates offered by Skype, there are now subscription plans ranging from 60-minute packages to unlimited, and the ability to buy one-month, three-month and 12-month calling subscriptions.
The subscriptions start at €0.89 per month and from €0.01 per minute, and can be limited to either landline or mobile or with the option to choose both.
“Skype’s new monthly subscriptions lower the cost of international calling and make it simple to choose the plan that best meets your needs,” said Neil Stevens, general manager of Skype’s Consumer Business Unit.
“People around the world can now have the simplicity and flexibility to call almost any phone in the world for less.”
