WINI Technologies
WINI Technologies has developed the worlds first fully automatic location based taxi service. WINIcabs is the quickest and safest way to get a taxi in Dublin. You call us and we use our technology to connect you to the nearest taxi driver.
How do we do this?
WINI (When I Need It, Where I Need It) keeps track of the whereabouts of available taxi drivers by putting a small piece of software on their mobile phone. When you call our special WINI (normal charge) phone number ...07 66 55 44 33 using the location data from your phone call, we can patch your call through to the nearest available driver to you.
Each WINI driver has a small transceiver fitted to their meter which keeps the system informed whether they are available or have passengers. This means that you will only speak to an available taxi driver who is in your local area.
To make the journey as safe and enjoyable as possible, once the driver has spoken to the customer, a security text is automatically sent to the customer giving the taxi drivers name, make, model and colour of the car and roof sign number. After each ride, customers will be given the opportunity to “rate their ride” on our website www.winicabs.com, which will encourage taxi drivers to give the best level of service possible to the customer.
At the end of the journey you can pay by cash, charge your trip to a pre-registered debit or credit card or if you are a Vodafone (and possibly O2) customer, very shortly you will be able to charge your trip to your mobile phone bill!

We are currently in a beta testing phase at the moment, but we plan to be up and running some time in November, just in time for the holidays!
We have just under 1,000 taxi drivers registered already, with a plan grow to around 1200 at launch. As this is a unique and patented technology, having showcased it at Mobile World Congress 2011 at the invitation of the GSMA, we have significant interest from abroad. WE have just been approved as an EI HPSU company
