LinkedIn acquires start-up ChoiceVendor
Professional online network LinkedIn has agreed to acquire start-up ChoiceVendor in its second major acquisition in the space of six weeks.
ChoiceVendor, a San Francisco start-up, founded in 2008 by former Google employees, provides customer reviews about accountants professionals, call centres and payroll services.
“Our acquisition of ChoiceVendor is right in line with our top priority to build a world-class team at LinkedIn,” said Jeff Weiner, CEO of LinkedIn, who added that he “admired” the ChoiceVendor team's experience and what they have achieved.
Yan-David Erlich and Rama Ranganath said on the ChoiceVendor website they intend to offer their knowledge and know how as part of LinkedIn in the future.
“Today, LinkedIn announced that it has completed its acquisition of ChoiceVendor. The ChoiceVendor and LinkedIn teams are equally passionate about helping professionals make the best decisions. As part of LinkedIn, we'll contribute our knowledge and ideas to the products and services that reach LinkedIn's network of more than 75 million professionals,” a statement on the ChoiceVendor website read.
The ChoiceVendor deal marks LinkedIn’s second acquisition in recent weeks. mSpoke - a next-generation personalisation solutions provider - was acquired by LinkedIn last August as part of its intention to add to its pool of technologies and talent.
Weiner maintains that LinkedIn will continue to acquire top talent and technologies with an overall aim to build a world-class business team.
No financial statement was released concerning the acquisition.
