Novell and SAP are collaborating for an optimised solution for customers running SAP applications on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server.
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP applications help users reduce the complexity of their application deployments, along with installation time and costs.
The solution simplifies physical and virtual deployments of SAP solutions, including the SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search app, SAP NetWeaver business Warehouse Accelerator software, SAP BusinessObjects Explorer software and SAP’s emerging in-memory platform.
“SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP applications continues the tradition of close co-operation between Novell and SAP, which has resulted in solutions that improve the reliability and ease of management of SAP applications on Linux,” said Joe Wagner, senior vice-president and general manager of global alliances at Novell.
“This latest offering dramatically simplifies and accelerates the deployment of physical and virtual mission-critical workloads for users of SAP solutions.”
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP applications offers long-term service pack support, extending it from six to 18 months.
It also provides optimised stack which eliminates many risk factors and a dedicated update channel which ensures that all enhancements are approved for it.
