The Leaders’ Room podcast features interviews with the country managers of some of Ireland’s leading sci-tech multinationals.
The second episode of The Leaders’ Room features HPE’s managing director of Ireland, Ray McGann. The series has been created in partnership with IDA Ireland.
McGann shares his thoughts on leadership in the technology sector, with a focus on AI and on the recently passed EU AI Act, but also on Big Tech’s role when it comes to climate change mitigation.
He added that what is critical for us in the future is “the democratisation of AI” because while many companies will have a lot of data, they won’t have sufficient computing power to make sense of it.
“Our view is if we create with relationships and partnerships on our HPE Green Lake platform that you can come on, buy a slice of supercomputing diagnostics, insight creation for your business, then we, with those partnerships, will enable any size of organisation to take advantage of the benefits that can be derived from AI,” he said.
