Many recruiters and potential employers are sussing out candidates’ social media profiles in an effort to learn a little bit more about them and to determine if they would be a good fit for the company.
The result is social media users may have to exercise a little bit more caution when it comes to what content they make public. According to an infographic by OnlineClasses.org, 79pc of recruiters said they will look at a candidate’s online presence prior to making a hiring decision, and 70pc of recruiters revealed they have rejected a candidate based on something they discovered online.
The infographic, in the form of a flowchart, aims to help social media users determine whether or not to keep content to themselves.
