Events such as Career Zoo offer job-seekers the best chance to speak directly with potential employees, Aer Lingus CTO Ravindra Simhambhatla said at Career Zoo in Dublin.
As was the case at last year’s Career Zoo, Aer Lingus believes there’s still the perception that as an older company, the amount of jobs available related to technology are few and far between. Simhambhatla explained this is not the case.
Right now, he said at Career Zoo recently, the airline is looking to continue its expansion of technology roles within the company, including those in digital infrastructure operations and developer operations.
And again, there are a number of ways for people who might not have a tech background to make their way into tech, particularly with the demand for creative roles for user interface and user interface design.
“Nobody has to be a hardcore techie anymore and that’s the great thing about today’s technology,” said Simhambhatla.
