The theme of this year’s Engineers Week is ‘Engineering is for Everyone’ and, judging by these attempts, it truly is.
During the forthcoming week, more than 1,000 volunteer engineers will visit schools nationwide to introduce engineering to students, while events and activities have been arranged by various local authorities, libraries, and academic institutions.
The purpose of Engineers Week is to highlight the diversity of engineering all around us, and a broad understanding of this multi-faceted discipline can help us all to better identify dodgy ideas such as those depicted below.
True, some of these ‘engineers’ have solved problems with ingenuity and skill – but there are some we wouldn’t trust to engineer a way out of a paper bag!
