The head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, who has described the internet as a “gift from God”, is hosting his second ever Google Hangouts chat.
Following a successful ‘Hangout’ last September, Pope Francis will sit down at 3pm GMT (4pm CET) for an event hosted by Scolas Occurentes, an educational group launched by the pontiff. You can watch it here.
“[Francis] will host his second Google Hangout live from the Vatican, engaging in a conversation with children from Brazil, India, Spain and the US,” said Google.
“The kids will share a glimpse into their lives and talk about their dreams with Pope Francis – and the world.”
In January last year Francis described the internet as “something truly good, a gift from God”, before backing social media too.
The Pope described the present world as one of wonder – a world getting smaller through innovations in technology and transport bringing us closer together.
He has also got his own Twtitter account, with almost 5.5m followers, which he uses every so often.
The World Cup allowed people from different countries and religions to come together. May sport always promote the culture of encounter.
