Ireland’s Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton, TD, today announced 167 new jobs for Cork and Dublin through six different companies, spanning ICT, medical technology, financial services and digital media.
PE Lynch will set up its European headquarters in Dublin, creating 20 jobs in sales, marketing and finance. MongoDB developer 10Gen, which already has its EMEA HQ in Dublin, is set to establish a new customer and technical support centre, which will create 60 positions for support engineers and developers, as well as sales, HR, legal and finance personnel.
Meanwhile, renowned online marketplace Etsy will also establish its new EMEA HQ in Dublin’s Digital Hub and will be seeking candidates to fill out an operational support team (customer support, seller outreach, engineering, IT and human resources) to help target sellers and buyers of unique handmade and vintage goods and craft supplies in the EMEA region.
In Cork, 17 jobs will come from Loop1 Systems through the establishment of a sales, customer support and technical centre; 35 jobs over the next two years from the decision by Whitehouse Analytical Labs to establish a new lab in Ireland; and German-based IMS Tec Gmbh is seeking 35 highly skilled engineers and technicians for a new support, research and development competency centre in Kinsale.
All of these companies, from both the US and Europe, are undergoing high levels of growth, and IDA Ireland believes they could potentially be the multinational corporations of the future.
“Part of the Government’s plan for jobs and growth is ensuring that we attract more fast-growing start-ups and emerging companies to locate in Ireland, so that they establish deep roots here from early in their growth and make a substantial impact on our economy,” said Bruton.
“There is also, of course, the possibility that one of these companies will turn into a world-leading company of the future. Both Enterprise Ireland and IDA have key roles to play in this, and last year we established a joint EI/IDA management team to target more jobs from these areas.”
