Ahead of Silicon Republic’s Digital Ireland Forum on 12 September, we chat to Vodafone’s Anne Sheehan about the recently announced joint venture with ESB, and about the major trends in communications.
It is of course still subject to EU approval, but all going well, the €450m joint venture between Vodafone and ESB will be a real “game changer” when it comes to broadband in Ireland, says Anne Sheehan, enterprise director at Vodafone, and a panelist at the Digital Ireland Forum.
“This will allow us to bring fibre directly into the home and directly into the business,” says Sheehan. “This is the first time in Europe that a company has brought high-speed broadband over the electricity infrastructure – so overground and underground directly into the building.”
We also chatted about major trends that Vodafone is seeing amongst its consumer and business customers.
