Cable TV and broadband operator UPC has revealed its new On Demand TV services are being expanded in Ireland to Athlone, Carlow, Clonmel, Kilkenny, Mullingar, Navan, Portlaoise, Sligo and Thurles.
UPC’s On Demand TV service began rolling out to Dublin customers in May.
UPC customers in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway, and Waterford have already enjoyed more than 6m views of On Demand programme content since On Demand was launched.
Shannon, Naas, Newbridge, Swords and Malahide were enabled for On Demand during the summer.
The On Demand TV services was enabled by the company’s €500m investment in its fibre-powered network.
The On Demand services now reach more than 680,00 homes across Ireland.
The service offers seven day catch-up TV from the RTÉ Player and 3player and more than 1,400 hours of the best box sets and series for free. TV series from the BBC, ITV, and a range of other leading channels are included and Movies On Demand is also available at the touch of a button.
In recent weeks, UPC doubled its standard entry-level broadband speeds for new customers from 25Mb to 50Mb. UPC also recently announced new 100Mb and 150Mb broadband speed services.
“Through our major investments in Ireland, UPC now offers groundbreaking home entertainment, superfast broadband and communication services with unbeatable value,” said UPC content director Simon Kelewan.
“On Demand TV opens a new world of TV for UPC customers where they can schedule their viewing when they want it,” he said.
