Daft.ie in exclusive deal with Samsung to launch property app on smart TVs

4 Oct 2012

Property website Daft.ie has partnered with Samsung to provide the property app exclusively on the Samsung Smart Hub, enabling users to search for property to rent or buy on their smart TVs.

Searching for property from the comfort of their living rooms and viewing pictures on a bigger screen, Daft.ie users will also be able to save the properties they like to their smartphones and computers.

“Daft.ie has always been at the forefront of allowing its audience to access its properties via the newest platforms and technologies,” Daft.ie marketing director Kieran Harte explained.

“Our partnership with the Samsung Smart Hub gives our audience an amazing new way of showcasing and finding the perfect home. It’s the next evolution from our success in the smartphone and tablet environments.”

The newly launched Samsung ES8000 TV features a 5mm ultra-slim bezel and also sports a 38mm profile.

Other apps available on the Smart Hub include YouTube, RTÉ Player, Netflix, Muzu.tv, Facebook and Twitter.

“At Samsung, we’re committed to providing Smart TV viewers with a wide range of content and services beyond video-on-demand and film services,” Samsung Ireland’s Brendan Carr explained.

“Our partnership with Daft.ie provides a new way to look at property searching. By viewing images on the television, house hunters will be able to get a better insight into the property, but they can also access shortlists they may have made on their mobile phone while out and about viewing potential homes,” Carr added.
