Software firm TotalMobile is to create 15 software developer jobs and five roles in other business areas in Belfast to accommodate its expanding client base.
TotalMobile, which employs about 120 people at the moment, is seeking Android developers in particular to help it create mobile working solutions for councils, health trusts, and private-sector businesses, The Belfast Telegraph reported.
The company’s products enable workers on the move to carry out tasks on mobile devices. For example, frontline NHS staff will be able to access and update patient information on a tablet computer.
The Belfast Telegraph quoted TotalMobile’s chief executive Colin Reid as saying the health sector is the company’s main area of growth and the new employees’ work will directly improve patient care.
“The staff we are recruiting will be working on leading-edge mobile technologies on all of the main platforms,” Reid said.
“But more importantly, they will be using these technologies to develop solutions to the biggest challenge facing the developed world today, namely, providing improved healthcare to our ageing population in a time of limited funding.”
