Amazing Alex, Rovio’s next adventure, coming in July

28 Jun 2012

The Angry Birds creators are expanding beyond the realm of furious fowl to bring a new physics puzzle game to the market.

Making good on its purchase of Casey’s Contraptions, Rovio has recreated the game as Amazing Alex, a puzzle game that involves creating Rube Goldberg machines out of household objects and toys.

A teaser for Amazing Alex was released in May and, since then, Rovio’s original smash success, Angry Birds, has gotten bigger and bigger, even opening its first theme park attraction.

Amazing Alex players will be given 100 levels to test their skills and, on top of that, Rovio is letting users create their own levels for the game using 35 interactive objects. User-generated levels can then be uploaded and shared with friends or players around the world.

The game will launch on iOS and Android in July, with a version for Windows Phone coming soon after.
