Five Irish companies will be showcasing their technologies at next week’s prestigious RSA Conference in San Francisco, taking a stand at the event under the banner of InfoSecurity Ireland, the Government-backed cluster which aims to raise the country’s profile as a hub for security activity.
The five companies taking part are Daon, PixAlert, Spamtitan, VigiTrust and Shenick. Many have already established themselves in the US market individually, working with government agencies, large financial institutions, insurance companies and other customers on issues such as preventing network vulnerabilities and securing data.
The cluster also plans to capitalise on business trends, like the move to mobile platforms and increasing use of the cloud for storing data, by offering technologies to meet security needs.
Daon will demo its award-winning IdentityX product at RSA for the first time. Now fully commercially available in the US, IdentityX uses the end-user’s mobile phone or tablet and a combination of security options to provide out-of-band authentication, as well as convenient integrated mobile applications.
PixAlert will debut its PCI DSS Scope Assessment Product at the show. This is a fully automated solution that allows businesses to quickly locate where Card Holder Data is stored on any part of the corporate network. The Dublin firm is previously best known for its software that detects inappropriate images on organisations’ networks.
Galway-based Spamtitan will unveil SpamTitan 5.10, the newest version of its popular business anti-spam solution. The latest iteration adds greater ease of use and features such as outbound transport layer security for advanced email encryption, pattern filtering and keyword analyses for customisable data-loss prevention.
VigiTrust will showcase its newest ‘Security of Social Networks’ e-learning module, which offers engaging design and new features building on an earlier version. The product was put together in collaboration with the renowned social media security expert Ira Winkler, who is due to drop by the stand during RSA.
Shenick will showcase its diversifEye per-flow IP network test systems for testing application quality of experience (QoE) over secure VPNs in physical and cloud-based networks. The company’s technology is frequently used by organisations looking to test the resilience of their network to external threats like DDoS attacks. Shenick’s diversifEye is aimed at enterprises that have employees accessing corporate data using smartphones and tablets over fixed and mobile secure VPNs.
Enterprise Ireland is sponsoring the stand, which will be branded with the Infosecurity Ireland logo along with those of the individual companies attending. The ISI participants will have access to all areas of the conference, as well as engagement with some press and PR activity.
Anne Lanigan, senior development adviser with Enterprise Ireland, said the calibre of delegates attending the event indicate its potential for raising awareness of Irish efforts in this space. “This show would be seen as one of the best in terms of information security. If you’re not there, then you’re not at the races,” she said. “People are coming to find out the newest technology products to solve the problems they have.”
