Megahit video game Angry Birds is blasting off into a spin-off scheduled to launch 22 March: Angry Birds Space.
Rovio, the maker of the game, has deemed Angry Birds Space as a “completely new game” and said its launch will be the most comprehensive launch ever for a mobile game.
Besides the game itself, the launch of Angry Birds Space is to include tie-ins, such as accompanying publishing, animation and retail products.
Few details of the game are available at the moment, but the information Rovio has released said Angry Birds Space will feature “innovative new gameplay”, some Angry Birds elements familiar to fans, plus some surprises.
Rovio has also released a teaser video and a website, which depicts a slingshot planted on the moon’s surface, with the earth in the background. At the bottom reads, “One small fling for a bird. One quantum leap for birdkind”.
