A man in Toronto, Canada, has been fired from his job after sending out a tweet looking for someone to drop off drugs to his workplace.
Sunith Baheerathan tweeted the request from Mr Lube, an automotive service centre, from Vaughn, a city just north of Toronto, Ontario, in the region of York.
“Need a spliff or two to help me last this open to close,” the tweet read in part.
The tweet had then been deleted, but York Regional Police had already gotten wind of it, and responded via the microblogging site.
“Awesome! Can we come too?” their tweet read.
That tweet by the York Regional Police has been now been retweeted more than 5,000 times and favourited by more than 3,300 people.
The police, in another retweet, mentioned the owner of Mr Lube to ensure the company had seen the message. Soon afterwards, Mr Lube’s Twitter account stated they had handled the matter.
Baheerathan then took to Twitter again, to confirm he had been fired. He then disappeared from the social networking site.
