Cork start-up Sensipass, which replaces passwords with sensory interactions of sight, sound and touch to enable authentication, has secured investment from Enterprise Ireland’s Competitive Start Fund.
Sensipass develops non-alphanumeric alternatives to traditional passwords using interactions with multimedia. The company expects its sensory authentication process to become widespread within three years, solving multiple problems involving keyboard languages, hearing and visual impairments and the many problems associated with alphanumeric passwords, such as theft and management costs.
The company secured €50,000 in investment from SOSventures in recent weeks after completing the SELR8R programme, the world’s first accelerator focused entirely on sales.
Enterprise Ireland’s Competitive Start Fund aims to accelerate the growth of companies that have the capability to succeed globally by helping them reach key commercial and technical milestones.
“This funding from Enterprise Ireland, as well as the €50,000 SOSventures investment, will position Sensipass to execute our sales and marketing plans, build a local team and engage with great young talent coming from third-level colleges here in Ireland,” explained Michael Hill, chief executive of Sensipass.
“From our base in Cork, Sensipass will continue to grow as more and more companies begin to work with us, to ensure our technology can help their customers,” Hill said.
